13/11/2006:Added shop.php
Added card reward data to tech2.php

Bad news everyone - Site hosting rates are going up, and we're running out of space. In a bid to raise money for more server space, we have opened a shop. It's a little empty at the moment, as all of the stock items are on order.
In other news, we have been able to map rewards for defeating enemies in C2 mode. This information will help us to create the ultimate C2 experience in the form of Bar Wars: The Neuroc Saga card set.
01/11/2006:Completed Hero stat and P-Code information in white.php
Moved to a new server.
Split news into two sections.

We have had a little more time to play on our OBCB, so we have listed the OBCB P-Codes for you.
25/10/2006:Added Hero stat information to white.php
We have had a little time to play on our OBCB, so we have listed the Hero stats for you.
24/10/2006:Corrected several mistakes with the Barcode World list in snes.php
Added Barcode World barcodes to allcards.pdf
Corrected an error in bcb.js

We hastily added Xensyria's list of Barcode World barcodes to the site the other week, and ended up leaving out 2 cards and mixing the MP and ST boosts up. These errors have now been corrected.
Also, we have added the Barcode World barcodes to the allcards PDF download.
Finally, we are testing a theory regarding the OBCB Soldiers working on the BCBII as heroes - though our Generator says they should be enemies. We have made a quick fix to bcb.js to allow for this, but we are testing a numerical sequence further to see if there are any other exceptions.
23/10/2006:Improved anti-spam measures on the guestbook.
Tony has taken time out of his busy schedule to finish the Guest Book re-programming early. Check it and see if you like it!
19/10/2006:Added Barcode World to snes.php
Abandoned Google Ads

A lot can happen in a week. We have added Barcode World to the re-branded Console Link page in the Japan section.
Then Google Ads accused us of cheating, but wouldn't specify how, but we can't be bothered to argue with them - so the Google Ads are gone.
In the background, the new Guestbook is almost ready, and the finishing touches are being put to c1.php .
12/10/2006:Added Barcode World and Senki scans to the varchive.
As you may have read in the guestbook, we have been out playing Lego Star Wars 2 for the last three weeks. During this time, Xensyria has sent in his mint condition Barcode World (for the Famicom) and Barcode Battler: Senki (for the Super Famicom) for us to scan for you, our loyal fans, who have put up with our lack of updates for nearly a month!
As before, we have a huge list of changes, updates and upgrades planned for the site.
We thank you for staying with us during our time away.
20/09/2006:Corrected Photo Gallery title.
Disallowed HTML in the Guestbook.

We've been out partying again - it was Tony's birthday on Monday. Also, the site has been running for about a year, so we have decided to give the site it's birthday on the same date.
Also, we plan to finish off the older parts of the site before the newer ones, otherwise we will never finish anything.
12/09/2006:Fixed the guestbook.
Updated tech1.php

This is Tony here - I have fixed the guestbook. I'll let CK0 have the first post though. Enjoy it, everyone!
I had better start trying to get that Sudoku site working.
Also, CK0 has updated the M0 page.
11/09/2006:Trying to fix the guestbook.
Added "Other" sections to photos.php.

Tony is trying to fix the guestbook - all 3 posts have been erased, and we can't put any new ones up.
In happier news, two new sections have been added to the Photo Gallery. There's "Other (BCB)" and "Other (Just for fun)".
In even happier news, we have been online for 51 weeks. Granted, we've only been here since April, but the site originally went online on a different URL.
08/09/2006:Added several pages.
Corrected bcb.js

We have added a new section - the galleries. The scan varchive has been moved into it, and we have added photos, front-page art, and downloadable barcodes.
Also, we have fixed two errors in bcb.js - the XF-Armour and Magic Spirit each had one digit entered incorrectly.
05/09/2006:Updated white.php
We have added data about the barcode cards to the OBCB page.
Also, we are planning a photo & art gallery page. You read it here first!
01/09/2006:Created white.php
Now that we have all woken up, we have published our first Original Barcode Battler (OBCB? It might stick) research. It isn't much, but it is a start.
31/08/2006:Added original BCB scans to varchive.php.
Yaaaaaaawn. Oh - right! Time to wake up and write some news!
First on the list, we reached 900 hits on 23/08/2006.
Secondly, we were up all weekend partying for no good reason and we all have headaches. Don't do it, kids! Find a good reason first.
Thirdly, we have added the scans to the bottom of the varchive of scans page.
Finally, Xensyria's translation appears to be going quite well. He has translated the main menu, and it makes much more sense now. He's not going to release it until it is finished, so be patient everyone!
23/08/2006:Improved Bar Wars.
Whoops! We forgot to update the landscape file for V0.12 of Bar Wars. We have fixed it now.
Also, as if we didn't have enough developments in the pipeline, Xensyria is working on an IPS patch for owners of the Barcode Battler: Senki ROM and SNES emulators which translates the text from Japanese to English. "All your base are belong to us!"
22/08/2006:Improved Bar Wars.
Bar Wars V0.12 is now online, but the slowdown when you get outside is very noticable. Can you make a bridge for the Neuroc to reach the island to the south?
In other news, Xensyria has sent us his white Barcode Battler to test - so you will see related scans soon.
15/08/2006:Updated snes.php.
Created g.php.
Anti-Advertising features added to the guestbook.

I have removed the reference to the G-Cards from the SFC page. Being completely unrelated, we unanously decided to get rid of it - and give it its own page. Look for it under the Japanese section.
Also, we have developed a system to put greater trouble to spammers on our guestbook. Only time will tell how well it will work.
14/08/2006:Service Announcement
We're back in the hotseat today, and we are still working on the next version of Bar Wars - we still need to animate the Frigins and enable their special ability, but the slowdown problem has been reduced. A little bit.
Also comming soon are Mario and Dragon Slayer updates, and the G-Card set will get it's own page. Xensyria's predictions about the G-Cards will also be documented - his foresight has proven accurate before. What has he seen? Find out soon!
04/08/2006:Updated mario.php.
We have (hopefully) corrected all the English names in the Mario page.
Also, we have reached 800 hits yesterday - apart from 601-700 hits - it was the fastest 100 hits, in only 8 days.
Just a quick message - we're going to be out of the office for a week, so there will be no more updates until 14/08/2006.
Look after the site while we're away everyone!
03/08/2006:Updated varchive.php.
Updated mario.php.

The scans page has finally been updated and given a new layout.
Also, Fryguy64 from the Nintendo Database Forums has written a list of further corrections for the Mario page. Thank you, Fryguy64!
02/08/2006:Updated mario.php.
A bit of research has filled some of the missing English names on the card list.
01/08/2006:Updated japan.php, loz.php, doraemon.php, snes.php.
Added mario.php, slayer.php.

At last, yesterday's update is starting to come online.
The Japan section has had two new pages added regarding the Super Mario World and Dragon Slayer card sets.
Also, we have improved the Legend of Zelda page - check it ooooooouuuuuuuttt (What's Craig David doing here? Get him off that keyboard!).
That's all for today!
31/07/2006:Service Announcement
Another weekend with no updates, but we are working on the following:
  • Bar Wars 0.12 (it's killed 2 workstations already, but we think we know why now).
  • A new interface for the Legend of Zelda cards - you'll know it when you see it.
  • A new layout for the scans page - gone will be the unreadable list.
  • Two new pages. What are they? It is a suprise!
Finally, between the evening of 26/07/2006 and the morning of 27/07/2006, we scored over 110 hits - what happened, we don't know yet. Hopefully we'll be scoring 1000 hits per week soon. If that's the case, we had better work on some new front page art.
26/07/2006:Modified the Guest Book.
Competition closed.

The guestbook has been re-organised to make it a bit more readable.
Also, we have closed the competition. The lucky winner of the handheld game machine and £262.50 charity donation will be contacted this week.
Finally, we broke the 600 hits barrier yesterday, making it the fastest 100 hits this site has seen - only 12 days!
25/07/2006:Added Japanese/English images to C1.php.
Added a Guest Book

While you're all waiting for the next Bar Wars update, we have added the Japanese / English enemies to C1 (from the Japanese / English manual).
Also, we have added a guest book. Tell me what you think to the site!
24/07/2006:Service Announcement.
In response to the flood of hits we have had this week (nearly 100!), we have decided to build a guestbook.
Also, the next version of Bar Wars will be out, probably next week. We're ironing out a memory bug.
Finally, we have had a delivery from France. What is it? It is a suprise!
17/07/2006:Improved Bar Wars a bit.
Just a quick message to say we have had a letter published on Teletext's GameCentral (available in the UK). Check out sup-page 12 of their In-Box on page 809.
We have been working in the recruitment aspect of Bar Wars this weekend. Talk to the Hyroc outside the first building and click on "Yes". Then try walking over the water to the east.
Also, we have been preparing some manual extracts for making the C1 page multi-lingual.
14/07/2006:Improved Bar Wars a bit.
We have hit a new site record: 100 hits in only 15 days! That is, we had our 500th hit yesterday.
As a reward, we have released Bar Wars version 0.10. Enjoy!
12/07/2006:Corrected Method 0 mistakes in tech1.php
Added information regarding Mario and Dragon Slayer card sets to japan.php

A minor update today, with a correction about the source of Method 0 barcodes, and new information regarding Super Mario World and Dragon Slayer card sets. If we had these, we'd be able to probe the secrets of the Barcode Battler even further...
Also, because we haven't had any takers so far with the win a £262.50 charity donation for the charity of your choice and a brand new hand-held of your choice competition, we have changed the rules slightly to make it fairer -
  • Any entrant can now win, not just the 750th. The winner will be chosen at random.
  • There is a time limit - 12 o'clock noon (BST) on 26/07/2006.
  • If we fail to raise enough for the charity donation and the prize, all entries will be refunded.
10/07/2006:Reduced Scans to 25%
Added donation competition
Corrected mistakes in FAQs and C0
Changed layout in hero.php

In order to celebrate the impending 500 hits, we're giving you the chance to win a hand-held game machine. Look out for the links around the site.
I have also had to reduce the scans to 25% of their original size, which has saved over 100MB of storage space. I may restore them in future if we get more space, but for now they'll have to stay small to allow the development of other features.
The rest of this week has been spent on spring cleaning.
05/07/2006:Added advertising space to 22 pages.
Oweing to financial pressure, I have started to put up adverts to advertise advertising space on this site. We need £60 a year for hosting, £5 every 2 years to keep the domain name, and any extra we make will be put into the research and development of this site.
03/07/2006:Re-designated Method 3 as Method 0.
We have decided to re-name Method 3 as Method 0. There are full details as to why on the Method 0 page.
Also, we reached 400 hits on 28/06/06. Only 21 days since 300 hits!
27/06/2006:Modified Methods 1 and 3 data to fit Wizard compatability research.
Updated doraemon.php
Updated c1.php

Xensyria's research into hero-character compatability in C1/2 has now been written up, and tests on the Method 3 Wizard have revealed two of the digits of its Method 1 equivalent were wrong, so we have corrected these.
Also, we have added Xensyria's Doreamon research, which he emailed to us ages ago, but we have only just gotten round to adding.
Finally, we have tinkered with the way the form on the C1 page works. Now it can predict the stats of individual enemies and the P-Code given at the end of any Era based on the final 3 digits of the Wizard and Warrior heroes in use. Give it a try!
22/06/2006:Moved from Easyspace to MassGamers.
Optimised hero and c1 enemy stat generators in bcb.js.

We hope you can read this - if so, the move was successful, and hopefully complete.
We have been tinkering with the javascript codes which run the interactive bits of the site, and have managed to shave 50 bytes from the file. Yay!
21/06/2006:Service Announcement.
Due to a contract dispute, we are unable to upload files larger than 1MB, and anything we can upload is only possible one file at a time.
Because of this, we will be changing our host. Please check out Mass Gamers in return for their very generous offer.
Although we will be keeping the same domain name, you may experience some site access difficulties for a few days when the transition occurs.
Until then, I will attempt to keep you all updated regularly on relevant matters.
19/06/2006:Added more M3 information to tech3.php.
Added M3 recognition to the Generator.
Optimised character data in Bar Wars: TN Saga.

I have added more of Xensyria's research, this time his extensive Method 3 data to tech3.php and to the Generator. At last, the circle is complete.
I have also played around a little with the Bar Wars game, but there's no huge improvements. View it at your peril!
13/06/2006:Improved Bar Wars: TN Saga.
It's been a quiet night, so I thought I'd add directionally limited tiles to Bar Wars. Look for tiles with arrows on them in the first room.
12/06/2006:Added a Character/Item Compatability Chart in Technical Page 2.
Added Xensyria's theory of the G-Card Pack to the Super Famicom page.

It's been a bit more relaxed this week, so I'm a bit better organised.
I have been adding some of Xensyria's hard work, such as the character/item table and his theory for the "G" cards.
Also, we passed 300 Hits on 07/06/06, but I don't plan a new homepage artwork for some time...
05/06/2006:Added a Lonely Brains page.
Pushed for time again, but I have had just enough of it to create a plea for help! Please check out the Lonely Brains column on the contact page.
30/05/2006:Improved "warping" capability in Bar Wars.
Teething babies are taking up all my spare time at the moment, but I had a few minutes to make a big adjustment to the Bar Wars game.
In other news, we're still looking into the effects of P-Codes on stats. We'll give you a full update as soon as all the results are available.
22/05/2006:Improved the Barcode Generator.
Improved Bar Wars: TN Saga.

First of all, we've reached another milestone - 200 Hits on 16/05/06.
This weekend, I have been improving the Generator further. Method 3 still isn't recognised, but Method 1 recognition is now more accurate.
Finally, there are the adjustments to Bar Wars - the tile system now supports upwards of 190 tiles per world, instead of the old 40 tiles per world. Also, you can move from one room to another. I haven't had much time to build new rooms though.
15/05/2006:Shortened Xensyria's mention on the front page.
Improved the Barcode Generator.

Just a basic update this week, as I've been caught short for time. Not even time for a new Bar Wars demo. Oh well...
We have managed is an upgrade for the Barcode Generator. Thanks very much to the research of a very modest Xensyria.
There have also been some developments behind the scenes on Bar Wars 0.05x (it's not stable, so I haven't updated it).
08/05/2006:Improved Bar Wars: TNS Saga.
Corrected Hiroshi Hara's name.
Corrected two barcode numbers in doraemon.php.
Added Xensyria's G-Card data to snes.php.
Added a new link to the Links page.
Added Xensyria's Era cheats to cheats.php.

Xensyria's been at it again. I've had too much data from him to work through this weekend. Thank you, though. The Bar Wars: TNS demo is starting to look like a proper RPG now. Check it out!
02/05/2006:Added more scans to the Scan Varchive.
Improved Bar Wars: TNS Saga.
Added an image to the SFC page.
Updated some of the data on the Custom page.
Added more cheats to the Cheats page.
Added a new link to the Links page.

It's been a long week. Xensyria's research has been running on all cylinders, and I'm only just starting to verify his results.
The Bar Wars: TNS demo has been greatly improved, though I'm dreading the amount of time needed for versions 0.05 and 0.06. I have plans, you'll see.
My own research has found Epoch have released a BCBII emulator for certain models of camera enabled mobile phones. Point your translator at the new link in the Links page.
26/04/2006:Changed the image on the homepage.
We have two reasons to celebrate:
  1. We have reached (or are about to reach) 100 hits! Thank you everyone. I only wish I had a better image to put on the site.
  2. We're on Google's database. We're top of the list when you type in "barcodebattler", but not "barcode battler". Nearly there.
With all this success here, I'll start deleting the old site...
25/04/2006:Improved the game engine for Bar Wars: TNS.
Added a page fro the BCB Interface for the SNES.

Time has been short this week, but we've done our best. Xensyria has opened up a new area of investigation with his E5/E6 cheat. This will be added soon.
Also, I have taken in some Japanese imports for the SNES. These too will take some time to research and document.
Finally, there have been some reports that some power-ups affect the accuracy/super-hit-rate/who goes first of a character in battle. This will take some time to look into, but will be added to the Generator if there is anything to it. Given the LoZ Magic Cape card, there probably is.
19/04/2006:Added more links to the Links page.
Improved the game engine for Bar Wars: TNS.

Hiya! I have put some really great links on today: one is for a site with information on the SNES/BCBII link-up, with a not from somebody we all know.
The other is from a very promising Japanese site with a BCBII simulator. It isn't finished yet though.
Finally, I have modified the game engine for Bar Wars: TNS. Instead of moving like it's on ice, the Neuroc now moves is nice, neat blocks. Pokémon fans might be familiar with this sort of system.
18/04/2006:Corrected a few more spelling errors.
Removed the Downloads section.
Added a Projects section.
Re-organised the menu.

Hello everyone. I have done a little housework on the site. Hopefully everything is a little better sign-posted, and some of the defunct files have been removed to make way for better things, such as Bar Wars: TNS, which is now available for a test-drive.
Don't expect too much yet though.
12/04/2006:Corrected mistakes in Technical pages and added information on Method 1 compatability.
Added information to the Doraemon page.

Not much to talk about besides the list above. Enjoy!
10/04/2006:Completed Scan Varchive up to Doraemon.
Corrected some programming errors in the Generator.
Split Japan page into 3 pages.
Fixed broken links in the Technical sub-site.

Two updates in less than a week? You must be dreaming! It looks like a regular site update is on the cards again.
I have invested in a Japanese to English dictionary to help me to translate all the Japanese materials I now have, but it isn't easy. I might have to start a "Lonely Brains" column.
Finally, I'd like to announce the start of development of a new game: "Bar Wars: The Neuroc Saga". What will it be about? Wait and see!
06/04/2006:Completed Scan Varchive up to Legend Of Zelda.
Added a new link.

We're still not quite up to speed, but we've fixed a lot of problems. The web counter now works, and the Scan Varchive is now a useful source of data for all you BCB junkies out there.
25/03/2006:Moved whole site to new domain.
Split Technical page into several pages.
Created new front page.
Created scan archive.

I know it has been over a month since the last update, but I assure you it has been worth it.
As I'm sure you'll know, we've moved! Yay! Thanks a lot to my good friend Jules McKenzie for providing the web space.
I have opened a scan archive which will fill-up as I process the images. Not a lot so far, but the English "English" manuals are there.
Xensyria has been working hard while I've been away. He's worked out a lot about character/power-up compatability.
16/02/2006:Corrected bad spelilngs.
Developed a new look for the site.

Xensyria has taken the time to spell check the whole site while I've been online. Thanks, Xensyria!
Also, I have been working on a new look for the site. Please direct comments to the Yahoo Group.
09/01/2006:Completed Method 1 recognition in the tester.
I have completed the Method 1 processing on the barcode tester, but still no new information for Method 3. Our search continues.
Also, I have finally found a way to thank Xensyria for his help, I am making him an admin in the Group/Guestbook at some stage this week.
Speaking of the Group/Guestbook, we have reached a new milestone - 4 members! Keep them coming, soon we'll have 8. Yay!
05/01/2006:Added UPC-E functionality to the generator.
Improved Method 1 recognition to the tester.

Happy new year everyone!
I have improved the Barcode Generator/Tester, to have a look if you're into that sort of thing. I haven't yet got around to completing the proposed changes, but hopefully by next week, we should have full Method 1 recognition and some way to decode UPC-E barcodes.
